P.S. On Ubuntu 11.10 (Unity 3D) do ‘sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool’ and change the fonts there.

Indeed, reducing the font size might be a better alternative than using “Nimbus”, but on smaller screens (even 15″) smaller fonts are hard to read.

Since I don’t like Unity or Gnome3, I’m using Xfce now and for some reason I no longer have the fonts issue on Xubuntu 11.10.

I had to (on Ubuntu 11.04) reduce the font size to 9 to get nice font results. Note that I had to restart netbeans to make font changes take effect, unlike for other applications.

Also tried to “Nimbus look and feel”, yikes!

The above solution doesn’t work under Ubuntu 11.10 for some reason. While the size of the font is changed, it’s the menu items that aren’t highlighted that look terrible.

I’ve been using the Rand code for a while now but i can’t get it to work with the latest version of wordpress (3.2.1) have you noticed this? do you have any fixes or alternatives?

There is a lot of articles and blog-posts about mpg123, but anyone has a step by step explanation for dumies. The man page is not very helpful either. I’m looking for a tutorial. I know I’ve to use wget, grep take the address http://123.456... , but I need a tutorial and I find a lot of people like me in forums asking how to use it.
